Project Details –The U.S. Gypsum drywall manufacturing facility in
Washingtonville, Pennsylvania, required a complete process control installation throughout the 650,000-square-foot facility. The project employed more than 125
on-site Slifco employees, including management and licensed union electricians. Electrical construction was required to service kilns, mills, high-speed conveyer systems (600 linear feet/minute), mixing area, offices and parking lot, as well as standard industrial electrical requirements.

Electrical construction highlights:

  • Installation of Flex I/O, Controlnet, Devicenet, and ASI Control systems
  • Installation and testing of more than 400 control panels
  • Installation of more than 72,000 linear feet of rigid conduit
  • 42,000 electrical terminations
  • 420,000 linear feet of cable
  • Installation of more than 3,600 electrical devices
  • Design/Built MCC sub-panels
  • Over a six-month period, 125 electricians working six 10-hour days with
    “Zero Recordable Time Lost Injuries”
