Project Details

Slifco Electric was contracted for substantial upgrades to existing facilities of the historic Dearborn Inn. Because Marriott required all work to be performed while the hotel remained open, Slifco Electric navigated the extra challenges presented by the hotel which allowed the facility to remain fully functional even during construction. Special precautions were enacted to eliminate sound and dust while electrical upgrades and new installations were performed.

The most critical upgrade was a new fire alarm system throughout the building, prioritizing safety for all. This safety mindset was extended to adjacent historical buildings, as they were also upgraded with all new fire alarm systems. The facility was completely upgraded with all new phone and internet systems, modernizing all the electrical systems in all 244 hotel suites. Slifco Electric is most proud to report zero “time lost” injuries for the duration of this project.

This project was a success, even with the additional scheduling requirements. Coordination with hotel management and additional contractors on site was imperative, and the work was executed flawlessly. Slifco Electric’s resourceful seven phase work plan provided the key for managing all aspects of this project with minimal service disruptions.
