Project Details

Slifco Electric was chosen as key partner to help transform the GM Lake Orion assembly plant to meet the demand for electric vehicle production. Slifco Electric was able to leverage extensive industry experience and use it to support a successful conversion to a new technology. The 1.2 million square foot Lake Orion assembly plant required installation of new power equipment, medium voltage power distribution, a lighting package, and facility power.

This was an expansive project, requiring over 4.5 miles of cable pulled and installed in 4,500 feet of cable tray. Cable was supported by almost 15,000 feet of bus duct throughout the facility. The lighting package included over 3,500 new light fixtures and all supporting equipment to finalize the project.

Contributing to the success of this project was a focus on quality, professional installation and safety. More than 150 Slifco Electric employees showed focus and dedication in making this a successful project.
