Project Details

Slifco Electric was chosen to be the primary electrical contractor for a 1.3 million square foot facility that serves a joint venture between Mazda & Toyota. This multi-year project included medium voltage power distribution, substation installation, plant lighting and controls, and facility power.

Facility power flows through almost 500 pieces of power distribution equipment. Power is distributed throughout the plant by almost 50,000’ of cable tray with over 280,000’ of cable. Finalizing the installation included just under 1,400 light fixtures. Completing the project with a focus on schedule, a complete fire alarm system was installed. This system featured over 700 fire alarm devices with just under 31,000’ of cable.

While keeping a focus on safety, Slifco Electric was able to complete the project on schedule and with 100% customer satisfaction. The plant provides thousands of local jobs and produces hundreds of thousands of vehicles each year. The project was a success for Slifco Electric and Mazda/ Toyota.
